I appreciated Tom's comments; I too draw strength from Keith. Family of origin drama, the unbelievable death of my youngest son by suicide, and a dire health experience devastated my life for the past year. The love and support of my husband, family, friends, a good therapist, the grace of God and the firm knowledge that this too shall pass has not only sustained me but nutured me. Keith wrote a book about the incredible power of the mind that we all have - going back and re-reading his book has helped me return to the important practice of maintaining a positive outlook, staying in the present and having a daily meditation practice.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're walking on similar paths. Your writing/stories give me strength. I discovered building "mindset theory" about six months ago and it's had a significant positive impact on my journey. Hope is a good thing.

I was blessed to cross paths with Dr. Holden on Udemy, he was kind enough to send me a link to all of his classes on the Power of the mind to heal the body.

Now our paths cross again on the journey of prostate cancer.

Five years ago (2017) my husband went to the Dr. because he was having trouble urinating. They prescribed flowmax, which he took for almost a year and then stopped because it wasn't working. He told the Dr. and his reply was "Ok" Nothing else was checked out.

In August 2022 I asked my husband to have his PSA checked, it was 7.8.

A biopsy was done in 11/22 and his Gleason score is 4+3=7.

His next PSA test showed a level of 8.05

We started a routine of massage with essential oils, meditation, and positive healing mantras as a means to help deal with the stress and to possibly help him heal himself. He hasn't started treatment yet but his PSA has dropped to 5.52 as of 12/22.

His bone scan was negative but the CT scan showed a 23mm x 20mm lesion on the neck of his pancreas. (11 years ago we were told this was a pseudo cyst and nothing to worry about)

A biopsy of the pancreas shows no cancer but our new team of doctors will now monitor an a regular basis.

We don't know why his PSA level is dropping but we will continue our private practice as he starts his medical treatments and pray for a miracle.

Thank You for planting the seed!

Hi Carol. It's good to hear from you again but I'm sorry about the circumstances. That is fantastic news about the PSA dropping with natural therapies and stress reduction techniques. That too has been my path - combining traditional therapies with natural therapies and stress reduction techniques. For the first time since radiation therapy in the fall of 2018, my PSA dropped just on natural therapies and has remained stable for the last 5 months. Tomorrow, I begin proton therapy directed at the metastases in my lymph nodes. Always remember, no one is immune to miracles. Both you are your husband are in my prayers and sending you both healing energy.
